Spring 2012 "Build Your Research Skill Set" Workshops

Move Your Research Paper Beyond Good Enough

So you have a big research paper to write? We're here to help! Take your research paper to the next level. In this workshop you'll learn about advanced search strategies, using the Libraries' resources smarter, and organizing your searches and results. But before you come, please review the OSU Libraries' How To Guide, with special attention to the pages or tutorials for finding booksfinding articles and using scholarly sources for your discipline, and identifying and modifying your keywords.

Work Smarter Not Harder: Turn One Good Article Into Several

Got one or two really good sources but need more for your project or paper?  Learn to use a source you already have to find additional useful sources by "citation searching." Citation searching can help you find sources both older or newer than the source you are starting with. We'll explore citation searching in discovery tools like Google Scholar, Web of Science and even Wikipedia.
