An overview of this subject guide serves as a pathfinder for this subject Guide. You can navigate to different content components by one click.

TAB "Quick Reference"

provides access to Statistical Data, Reference Books, Research questions and CAB Blog.

Statistical data includes data posted from various government agencies. You can click on the logos to find data on Weather (NOAA), Agriculture (USDA), International Food & Agriculture (FAO), Toxic Release (EPA) and Water (USGS).

This tab also provides access to a commercial news service USDA Crop Explorer and StormX for crop protection and other related data.

TAB "Find Books"

Provides access to print and eletronic books in the libraries via online catalogs. It also show you how to suggest a book to purchase.

TAB "Find Journal Articles"

Provides access to electronic journals and a few open access organizations to view full-text articles.

TAB "Search Engines"

Provides search box for OSU ScholarsArchive, GoogleScholar, LibraryFind, World Digital Library

Find Books from online Catalog

OSU Libraries Catalog Books in Valley Library and OSU branch libraries. If a book isn't available from OSU, use "Try Summit Libraries" to borrow it from another library.

Summit/WorldCat Catalog Request books not available at OSU and have them sent to Valley Library, usuall within 3-4 working days.

Find Electronic Books

Find Electronic Books available online in the library catalog

In the Library Catalog, Choose the Advance Search option.

In the Material type box, chooce the Ebook option.

You will find many electronic books you can read online according to your search terms.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan is a service that helps us to borrow books and journal articles we do not currently have at the Valley Library, It is free to OSU student, staff and faculty. Journal articles can arrive from a few hours to a few days but books can take longer.

Can be used to organize and personalize citation/bibliography manaer software program

EndNote features include

Organize references in a database.
Format citations and create bibliographies automatically in word processing software.
Create multiple databases with unlimited records per database.
There are 47 customizable reference types with up to 52 fields for entering bibliographic data.
EndNote has the capability to connect directly to information resources that support the Z39.50 standard. This greatly simplifies the process of importing search results into an EndNote database. (Note: Most commercial reference databases have restricted access, requiring a login/password.)
For resources that do not support Z39.50, downloaded references can be imported without retyping into personal EndNote databases using EndNote's import filters
