Professor Cytrynbaum is the former director of the Justice Brandeis Innocence Project and associate director of the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University. She has taught journalism at Northwestern University and the University of Oregon and is an experienced newspaper reporter and freelance writer who has worked at a number of major newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times, New Orleans Times Picayune and the Chicago Tribune, where she was a reporter for columnist Mike Royko.
