Dissertation Abstracts Dissertations and Masters Theses completed at US institutions. If you find a dissertation you're interested in, use ILL to request it. Be aware, though, that not all libraries will lend them. If you can't borrow a dissertation from another library, you can purchase a copy from Proquest/UMI.

Communication Abstracts Published by CIOS (Communication Institute for Online Scholarship) Articles, reports, papers and books in communication studies and related disciplines such as public opinion, new media, etc. Journals indexed
Academic Search Premier All topics; not as comprehensive as the subject-specific databases but a good starting point. Limit to scholarly journals.
