You can search the libraries' online databases such as Business Source Premier which covers full text articles from business journals, magazines, and newspapers. You can search by keyword, author, subject, title, etc. Please note that not all of the business journals the library subscribes to are found in this database.

LexisNexis Academic Full text articles from international and US national, state and local news sources, as well as specialized business and industry information.

Wall Street Journal Searches full-text of articles from 1986 until the present. Does not include advertisements or daily stock prices.

Usually you can access annual reports by visiting a company's homepage and searching on their website.

However, if this doesn't work, here are two resources that might help you in your search:

This free service allows users to review an annual report in an easy and convenient manner. They claim to have the most complete and up-to-date listings of annual reports on the internet.

Wall Street Annual Reports
This is a free service, and is sponsored by the hundreds of companies participating in the Annual Reports Service.

Statistical Abstract of the US The Statistical Abstract of the United States, published since 1878, is the authoritative and comprehensive summary of statistics on the social, political, and economic organization of the United States.

Guide to Market Segmentation A list of useful books about market segmentation from the library of congress. In the right-hand column select your topic (lifestyle link is particularly useful). If any of the books look useful check the OSU library catalog to see if we have the book, if not, make sure to check the Summit Library catalog -- when you "request" a book from the Summit catalog it will be at the Valley Circulation desk within three business days.

Mintel Market Research Reports Market research information relating to consumer goods and services. Information is gathered from original market research, analysis of official data and surveys and is then packaged into reports. Each report follows a similar format, including sections on market, suppliers, trends, etc. In addition information is provided on social, econmics, and demographic trends and marketing news.

Business Source Premier Click on Market Research Reports or SWOT analysis on the right hand panel.

Lifestyle market analyst (a book) This popular marketing tool contains three profile sections: 1) Market Profiles -an overview of the demographics and lifestyle interests of the adult population/households in the 210 U.S. DMA (Designated Market Areas) markets; 2) Lifestyle Profiles -demographic and related lifestyle interest information for over 70 lifestyle interests; and 3) Consumer Segment Profiles, - characteristics of households that fit certain demographic and economic criteria. A fourth section lists consumer magazines and direct marketing lists targeted to each lifestyle interest.

External sources to license-in technologies, ideas, and intellectual property

1. OSU's Office of Technology Transfer; specific technologies may be provided for the class to consider, where the main list exists at this site. Details on inventions available for licensing require contact with office personnel.

2. Boston-based firm that pairs everyone from garage inventors to multinational corporations in pairing technologies, ideas with those interested in licensing. The extent of coverage (i.e. whether an idea is patented) for an invention varies. You will need to create a login in order to have an extensive search capability and if interested in a technology, you communicate anonymously with the IP owner and they decide whether they want to share more with you.

3. Chicago-based firm that has several general technologies that are fit to support several unique (yet-to-be-invented) applications (search for key words in the search bar half way down the page, login establishment may be necessary).

4. European site that supports brokering between inventors.

Somewhere on the results page you'll also find a box labeled "Key Competitors" (most likely in the lower-right)

Mint Global provides worldwide business information about industries and companies (both private and public).

Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage Choose "Companies" from the top menu bar (includes only companies in the S&P 500).
