You can search the libraries' online databases such as Business Source Premier which covers full text articles from business journals, magazines, and newspapers. You can search by keyword, author, subject, title, etc. Please note that not all of the business journals the library subscribes to are found in this database.
LexisNexis Academic Full text articles from international and US national, state and local news sources, as well as specialized business and industry information.
Wall Street Journal Searches full-text of articles from 1986 until the present. Does not include advertisements or daily stock prices.
Companies and Competitors
- Choose Business in the top toolbar.
- Type in the company name or ticker symbol to search for a Company Dossier. Hit search. Select the company you are interested in researching.
- Somewhere on the results page you'll also find a box labeled "Key Competitors" (most likely in the lower-right)
Business Source Premier Click on Company Profiles in the right hand navigation bar to view Datamonitor Company Profiles
Mint Global provides worldwide business information about industries and companies (both private and public).
Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage Choose "Companies" from the top menu bar (includes only companies in the S&P 500).
Google Finance lists "Related Companies" in each company profile.

Locating Annual Reports
Usually you can access annual reports by visiting a company's homepage and searching on their website.
However, if this doesn't work, here are two resources that might help you in your search:

This free service allows users to review an annual report in an easy and convenient manner. They claim to have the most complete and up-to-date listings of annual reports on the internet.
Wall Street Annual Reports
This is a free service, and is sponsored by the hundreds of companies participating in the Annual Reports Service.

Market Research
Mintel Market Research Reports Market research information relating to consumer goods and services. Information is gathered from original market research, analysis of official data and surveys and is then packaged into reports. Each report follows a similar format, including sections on market, suppliers, trends, etc. In addition information is provided on social, econmics, and demographic trends and marketing news.

Lifestyle market analyst (a book) This popular marketing tool contains three profile sections: 1) Market Profiles -an overview of the demographics and lifestyle interests of the adult population/households in the 210 U.S. DMA (Designated Market Areas) markets; 2) Lifestyle Profiles -demographic and related lifestyle interest information for over 70 lifestyle interests; and 3) Consumer Segment Profiles, - characteristics of households that fit certain demographic and economic criteria. A fourth section lists consumer magazines and direct marketing lists targeted to each lifestyle interest.
